Airport Emergency ExerciseUrgent: seeking community volunteers for emergency exercise at Port Hedland International Airport!

The Town of Port Hedland is calling out to all community members who are interested in participating in a mock emergency for an emergency response exercise on Saturday 11 August. Exercises of this nature help to prepare and train emergency service agencies, supporting organisations and airport staff to deal with aviation emergencies.

Port Hedland International Airport is seeking up to 60 volunteers to act as injured and distressed “passengers” who, in the scenario, have experienced a difficult landing.

Volunteers will need to be in good health and commit to the exercise for the entire period. While some parts of the exercise can be quite exciting, there can also be long periods of inactivity or boredom in sometimes difficult conditions depending on the day. For this reason, children under 16 are not able to take part.

Refreshments will be provided on the day and the exercise will be followed by a ‘thank you’ BBQ.

Please register with TOPH as soon as you can if you would like to participate in this exercise. Download the brochure below for more information!
