Department of Commerce  is the lead State Government agency for local industry participation and the implementation of the Western Australian local industry participation framework. They regularly and formally meet major project proponents to reinforce the Governments expectations for local content levels and our wish for all local industry to be given “full, fair and reasonable” opportunity.

They are currently running a program called the Industry, Facilitation and Support Program(IFSP). The IFSP provides dollar-for-dollar financial assistance as a reimbursement to local businesses to improve competitiveness and productivity.

• Funding includes:

-          Improvements to internal business infrastructure;

-          Specialist training

• Funding eligibility areas includes:

-          Resource processing
