PHCCI, President, Andrew Ziems:

The Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Inc. (PHCCI) strongly supports the Government of Western Australia’s significant investment in the Osprey Key Worker Village.

The Osprey Key Worker Village is just one of many transformational community infrastructure projects responsible for building capacity in communities across the Pilbara region.  These projects underpin the creation of a resilient, sustainable and diversified local economy that generates exceptional business and employment opportunities for our growing population.

The Osprey Key Worker Village is a key business enabler for small to medium sized enterprise.

A major benefit of the Osprey Key Worker Village is increased access to affordable housing which will improve local businesses’ ability to attract and retain appropriately skilled employees.  The Osprey Key Worker Village will also significantly reduce new businesses’ start-up costs and may help promote new business investment in Hedland.

Furthermore the Osprey Key Worker Village will enhance the livability of our entire community as more businesses open their doors, offering a broader range of services to local residents.

We look forward to working across all levels - and with both sides - of government to overcome barriers to new business growth in the region.

We live in a region widely recognised for its strategic national and economic importance, investing in the future, long-term development of Hedland makes good business sense.
