The PHCCI are proud to announce that through the partnership with BHP the Vital Resources fund has allowed the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry to commence the development of the Economic Action Plan. This Action Plan is aimed at attracting new business to Port Hedland by demonstrating economic diversity and strength through a series of engaging initiatives and business capacity uplifts.


The PHCCI will initiate the consultation process in January 2021, with community stakeholder engagement to begin thereafter, Claire Boyce CEO for the PHCCI noted “this project is set to provide tangible outcomes for the economic structure of Port Hedland and we are excited to be embarking on this journey”


David Trench, BHP Community team Port Hedland said, “We are proud that BHP’s Vital Resources Fund is supporting the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry to generate new business opportunities for small businesses across Port Hedland, South Hedland and the industrial areas of Wedgefield and Kingsford Smith. This funding package strengthens Port Hedland as a place to do business.”
