We asked Jodi a few questions in the lead-up to the Forum:
How long have you been in the Pilbara?On and off since 2006, so nearly 20 years.
Where does your passion for the Pilbara come from? Tell us what drives you to do what you do.I moved to the Pilbara (Pannawonica) straight out of high school from north-western Victoria, on the other side of the country. It was the first place I lived after leaving the safety of my family home — a huge step for a young adult at the time. The environment, community, lifestyle, and rare beauty of the region welcomed me in, and I quickly felt completely at home. Having grown up on a sheep station, I have a natural hands-on connection with, and love for, the land. My 19 years in the mining industry have fuelled my desire to make the most of the resources we have in this country. Being a leader in the industry allows me to lead with humility, give back in any way I can, and inspire the next generation.
