PHCCI MEMBER VISITS!

PHCCI MEMBER VISITS!
On the road Thanks to Port Hedland Mazda 🚗
This week, we touched base with the very busy team from Polly Farmer Foundation. Polly Farmer Foundation, is all about empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to reach their goals, in school and beyond. Its award-winning program called Follow the Dream runs after school, where students get tutoring, mentoring, and heaps of support from people who believe in them. Students can join fun camps, career trips and cultural activities if they meet goals. And once they graduate, they’re still part of the crew, with access to career advice and support. A lucky group of students and the Hedland Polly Farmer team travelled to Darwin recently to experience the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Telephone: (08) 9443 7260 – Email: pff@pff.com.au – Website: www.pff.com.au.

Tina and Jenny had a wonderful catch-up with the always amazing Pharmacy 777 Port Hedland team and toured their newly renovated store. Exciting news from Pharmacy 777: they’re now offering convenient women’s health services. If you’re experiencing symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI, a 777 pharmacist can provide treatment and advice—no GP visit needed. They can also resupply your oral contraceptive pill if you’ve seen a GP in the past two years and meet eligibility criteria. With quick 15-minute consultations and hours from 8am to 8pm daily, Pharmacy 777 makes healthcare easy and accessible. Phone: 9173 1350 Email:porthedland@pharmacy777.com.au

Jonathon and Jess caught up with Rudy from Raikas Family Restaurant, a local favorite in South Hedland. Located at 13/31 Throssell Road, this family-friendly spot offers a diverse menu, from classic pastas and risottos to Asian-inspired dishes like sweet and sour chicken and spicy pork and prawn fried noodles. They also serve burgers, seafood, and grilled meats, catering to all tastes and diets. With a warm atmosphere and attentive service, Raikas is a welcoming choice for locals and visitors alike. Phone: 9172 1664
Jess also recently touched base with the lovely Leonie from EdConnect Australia, who visited Port Hedland to connect with four fantastic partner schools: Baler Primary, Port Hedland Primary, St Cecilia’s, and Hedland Senior High. The trip helped strengthen school partnerships and spark interest from new volunteers. EdConnect Australia links volunteers with students in need of extra support, creating meaningful connections that make a lasting impact. Some schools are still in urgent need of volunteers. If you or someone you know can spare just one hour a week for six months, visit www.edconnect.org.au or call Leonie on 0429 135 489.
We look forward to seeing more members out and about next week.
