We asked Jess a few questions in the lead-up to the Forum:
How long have you been in the Pilbara?I have lived in Port Hedland for 18 years.
Where does your passion for the Pilbara come from? Tell us what drives you to do what you do.My passion for the Pilbara is deeply rooted in my family history, my dad was born and raised in Port Hedland as was my grandfather, and we still have strong family ties here today. What drives me are the people. Despite the challenges of living remotely, the community consistently shows resilience and a genuine willingness to support one another. Port Hedland is also full of opportunities for those willing to work hard. Being able to contribute to that by creating pathways for others to benefit from what this town and industry have to offer is the motivation for the work I do.
Why are you excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025?I’m excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025 because it’s a chance to connect with inspiring women who share a passion for the region. The Pilbara is built on resilience, community, and opportunity and I value the chance to celebrate and learn from the women who contribute to making it such a wonderful place.
