We asked Peta three key questions in the lead-up to the Forum:
How long have you been in the Pilbara for?22 years in total. I grew up in Newman and returned seven years ago to raise my daughters surrounded by family. My dad and three siblings still live in town — Newman will always be home.
Where does your passion for the Pilbara come from? Tell us what drives you to do what you do.It’s the people and the landscape — both tough and beautiful. The Pilbara builds strong, resourceful communities, and I’m driven to make sure everyone, especially women and young people, feel they belong, are seen, and have real opportunities to thrive here. I love living here, and I want others to love it too — whether they’re here for two years or ten.
Tell us why you are excited to be a part of Women of the Pilbara 2025?I love any space where regional women get to lead, learn, and lift each other up. Being part of this summit means sharing our stories, celebrating our grit, and shaping a stronger Pilbara future — together
