We asked Cathy a few questions in the lead-up to the Forum:
How long have you been in the Pilbara?I arrived in Port Hedland in November 1994, whilst travelling Australia anti clockwise from Darwin, and I am still here – I didn’t get too far!
Where does your passion for the Pilbara come from? Tell us what drives you to do what you do.My passion for the Pilbara comes from loving the lifestyle and professional opportunities the Pilbara offers.
I love living in a small town, by the ocean, with amazing winter weather, and close access to stunning coastal and inland playgrounds.
I love the people that a place like the Pilbara attracts.
I love I am still in awe of the mineral processing / mining industry and still learn something interesting everyday.
I love I get to wear steel cap boots to work every day.
Why are you excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025?I am excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025 as a way of sharing some of the passion I have for my home and work.
