We asked Charina a few questions ahead of the Forum:
How long have you been in the Pilbara?My husband Rodd and I relocated from Perth to the Pilbara in 2017, so we’ve proudly called it home for the past eight years. Growing up on the mid-north coast of NSW, I never imagined I’d end up on the other side of the country, but I couldn’t be happier that this is where we’ve settled. Our two boys are true Pilbara kids, and I love that they get to grow up in such a unique and special place.
Where does your passion for the Pilbara come from?My passion for the Pilbara comes from the people and the incredible sense of community here. This is a place where anyone who wants to can truly get involved, contribute, and help shape something special—something you don’t find everywhere. I’m inspired by the way we support one another and can build strong social connections, creating a resilient community that I’m proud to call home.
Why are you excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025?I’m excited to be part of Women of the Pilbara 2025 because it’s a chance to celebrate the incredible depth of knowledge, talent, and brilliance within our community. Even though we are relatively small in numbers, the strength of the women here is extraordinary—they not only shine in their own right but also uplift and support one another. This event honours the women who have paved the way for the opportunities we have today and inspires us to carry that legacy forward for future generations. I feel truly honoured to live and work alongside such remarkable women.
