Speaker Spotlight – Women of the Pilbara Forum 2025
Join us at the Women of the Pilbara Forum to hear from Danielle Collins, Senior Sales Consultant, Hedland First National
We asked Danielle our three signature questions in the lead-up to the Forum:
Born and raised in Hedland, I’ve lived here for all of my 39 years, apart from four years in Newman. My parents met at the Whim Creek Pub (so, very local lol), and I’m now raising six kids of my own right here, all born and schooled locally. I have one sibling who also still lives in Hedland raising his family. So very Pilbara.
I didn’t grow up dreaming of a career in real estate, I actually wanted to be a nurse, but the sight of blood had other plans! I “fell into real estate” after selling cookware at home parties, and one day Jan Ford pulled me aside and said, “You need to give up the pots and pans and come sell houses.” Jan owned Jan Ford real estate and had been a local for decades. That moment changed everything. Now, I sell over 150 homes a year, all in Hedland and lead a local team I’m so proud of. Since then, I’ve been the top-selling agent in WA for the past four years and ranked second and third nationally across Australia and NZ. But what really drives me is this community. I was born here, bought my first home here at 19, and now I get to give back by supporting local schools, clubs, and families. This town gave me everything, a career, a lifestyle, and a home for my kids.
I love being inspired by strong women, especially in places like Hedland where the industries (and town) are so male-dominated. My biggest inspiration is my boss Morag Lowe, when she took over HFN 20 years ago (this year) she was told by the previous male owner that she wouldn’t last two minutes in this town and now she runs the most successful agency in WA – What a lady! I have been blessed to speak at a few local events and share my story – and whilst to me it doesn’t seem like anything special, I feel honoured that other local women have been inspired by what I have done in our town.
